Thank you, Blacktown.
Before we say anything else, we want to say this:
To every customer who nominated us, voted for us, left a Google review, or told a neighbour to bring their car to us. Thank you. You are the only reason this award is sitting on the front counter today. The Local Business Awards aren’t decided by a marketing budget or an agency pitch. They’re decided by the people who actually walk through the door, hand over their keys, and trust us with the car that gets the kids to school and the tradies to the job site. That’s you. And we don’t take a single nomination for granted.
To the families across Blacktown, Seven Hills, Prospect, Bungarribee and Toongabbie who keep coming back service after service. Thank you. To the tradies who back the ute up to the roller door at 7:55am because they need to be on a job in Parramatta by 9. Thank you. To the EV owners who trusted a workshop that’s been here since the 1950s to know what their car needed. Thank you. To the customers who left a review without being asked, and the locals who told their mates: this is your trophy. We just collected it on your behalf.
Thank you, Local Business Awards.
We also want to say a sincere thank-you to the Local Business Awards team for recognising the work of the team here at Goodyear Autocare Blacktown. Running a community-voted, independently judged awards program every year takes real effort, and it gives small local workshops a platform we simply wouldn’t otherwise have. Being recognised in the Automotive Services category for the Blacktown region, alongside every other workshop, tyre shop, mechanic and service centre in the area, means a great deal to us. Thank you for putting the spotlight on local business.
And here’s the news.
Goodyear Autocare Blacktown has been named the 2026 Local Business Award winner in the Automotive Services category.
We’ve been at 116 Bungarribee Road, Blacktown since September 1959. Sixty-six years of fitting tyres, fixing cars, and keeping Western Sydney moving. This week, that work was recognised in the way that matters most to a local workshop: by the locals themselves.
What the award actually means for you
A trophy looks nice on a shelf. It doesn’t change your tyre pressure. So here’s the practical translation.
The Local Business Awards are judged on customer experience, consistency, and community contribution. To win the Automotive category, a workshop needs:
- A track record of fair pricing and clear quotes, with no surprise bills at pick-up
- Repeat customers who keep coming back rather than shopping around every service
- Technical work that holds up: no comebacks, no second visits to fix the first job
- Owners and staff who answer the phone, return calls, and stand behind the work
That’s the standard the judges measure against. It’s also the standard Courtney and the team have been running the shop to since she took ownership in July 2024. It is also the standard we’ve held since the Goodyear sign first went up at 116 Bungarribee Road back in 1959.
For you, that means the workshop you trusted last year is the same one that just won the award. Nothing changes. We open at 8:00am Monday to Friday and 8:00am Saturday. The number is still (02) 9622 5511. The kettle is still on.
Sixty-six years in Blacktown. One workshop. Same address.
Most automotive workshops in Western Sydney have moved at least once. Many have changed hands three or four times. We’ve been at the same Bungarribee Road site since 1959 through six decades of Holden, Falcon, Hilux, Camry, Ranger, Tesla and every model in between.
That matters for two reasons.
First, the team has seen it before. When you bring in a 2008 Commodore with a knocking front end, our mechanics aren’t guessing. They’ve worked on hundreds of them. Same for late-model EVs, dual-cab utes carrying tool kits across Western Sydney every day, and the family wagon doing the school run from Seven Hills to Prospect.
Second, you can find us. We’re not a pop-up. We’re not a chain that closes the local branch when head office reshuffles. If something isn’t right with the work, you know where to come back to Monday morning, same door, same people.
That continuity is part of what the Local Business Awards judges look for. It’s also why our reviews keep growing instead of churning.
What we actually do, a tour of the workshop
The award is for “Automotive Services,” which is broad. Here’s what that covers in our shop, and the pages where you can read the detail on each one.
Tyres
Tyres are how most people first find us. They’re also where most workshops in Western Sydney quietly mark up the price and hope you don’t compare.
- Cheap tyres in Blacktown: our most-visited page, with current pricing across budget through premium brands. Goodyear, Dunlop, Kumho, Continental, Pirelli.
- EV tyres in Blacktown: EV-specific tyres (higher load rating, lower rolling resistance, quieter compound). If you’re driving a Tesla, BYD, Polestar, Kia EV6 or any other electric vehicle around Blacktown, the tyre choice matters more than most drivers realise.
- Search tyres by brand or by vehicle if you already know what you want.
- Not sure what size you need? Read how to find your tyre size: the placard is usually on the driver’s door jamb.
Every tyre we sell is balanced, fitted, and the old set disposed of at no extra charge. Tyre fitting is included in the quoted price.
Wheel alignment, balancing, and rotations
These are the services that quietly save you money. A car that’s pulling left isn’t just annoying: it’s eating the inside edge of the front tyres at twice the normal rate.
- Wheel alignments: full four-wheel alignment on the Hunter alignment rack. Recommended every 10,000 - 15,000km or after kerb strikes.
- Wheel balancing: if the steering wheel shakes between 90 and 110 km/h, it’s usually a balancing issue, not a steering one.
- Tyre rotations: front tyres wear faster than rears on front-wheel-drive cars. Rotating every second service evens the wear and adds thousands of kilometres to the tyre life.
Brakes, batteries and mechanical work
- Brakes: pad checks are free with any service. Squealing, grinding, longer stopping distance, or a pedal that feels spongy: bring it in.
- Batteries: we’re a Century Batteries stockist. Free battery health test, replacement fitted on-site in most cases within 30 minutes.
- Logbook servicing and general mechanical: we stamp logbooks for every make. Manufacturer warranty stays intact.
- Computer diagnostics: AUTEL diagnostic equipment for engine lights, gearbox codes, ABS faults, and the modern wiring-loom problems that older shops can’t read.
- Puncture repairs: internal plug-patch repair, done properly, not the external rope plug that fails six months later.
Pink slips (e-Safety Checks)
Every car over five years old needs one each year before registration renewal. We do them.
- Pink Slip / eSafety Check in Blacktown: booked online, typically completed in 30–45 minutes. If something fails, we tell you exactly what it’ll cost to fix before any work starts.
Fleet customers
If you’re running a fleet of utes, vans, or a small delivery operation across Western Sydney, we work with you on priority bookings, fleet pricing, and consolidated monthly invoicing.
- Fleet services: current fleet partners include local builders, electrical contractors, plumbing crews and family-run delivery operations across Blacktown, Seven Hills, Prospect, Bungarribee and Toongabbie.
What the award doesn’t change
We’ve seen what happens when local workshops win an award and then quietly lift prices. We’re not doing that.
- The prices on the cheap tyres page are the same today as they were yesterday.
- Afterpay is still available on services over $200. Four equal payments, no interest.
- Quotes are still given before work starts, not after.
- If the job comes in under quote, you pay under quote. That’s the rule, and it’s not changing.
The award doesn’t entitle us to charge more. It’s the opposite, it raises the standard we have to keep meeting.
Who voted, who judged, and what the category covers
For anyone curious about how the Local Business Awards work:
- Nomination round runs early in the year. Anyone in the community can nominate a business.
- Voting round is open to the public. Businesses with the highest customer nomination counts move forward.
- Judging panel then reviews finalists on customer feedback, business practices, community engagement, and consistency.
- Awards ceremony announces winners in each category at a Blacktown City venue.
The Automotive Services category covers tyre shops, mechanics, auto-electricians, panel shops, and service centres across the Blacktown local government area. Winning it means our customer base, voting alongside customers from every other automotive business in Blacktown put us at the top.
That’s not something a marketing budget can buy. It’s earned, one logbook stamp at a time.
Book in. Same workshop. Now with a trophy.
If you’ve been meaning to swap that worn front tyre, get the brakes checked before winter, or finally book in the pink slip that’s due next month, this is the nudge.
- Book online: pick a day and time that suits, get a confirmation immediately.
- Phone: (02) 9622 5511
- Walk in: 116 Bungarribee Road, Blacktown NSW 2148. Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm, Saturday 8am - 1pm.
Thank you, Blacktown. We’ll keep earning it.
